A theatrical release planned and produced by Sunrise, directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino, and premiered on March 12th, 1988. This work depicts the final battle between fated rivals Amuro Ray and Char Aznable. In December 1987, Tokuma Shoten released the novel "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack." On February 20th, 1988, Kadokawa Shoten released "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children."
