A pilot with the Eurasian Federation of the Earth Alliance. He is a member of the Special Forces Team X, which tests Mobile Suits independently developed by the Eurasian Federation, and pilots the Hyperion Gundam. He boasts extremely advanced piloting skills and is a combat specialist proficient in organized combat as well. During combat, he is sometimes highly emotional and aggressive, showing no mercy to his enemies. He is two-faced in a sense; composed at some times and off the rails at others. Canard is a living example of one of the failed attempts to create a Super Coordinator on Mendel, and harbors strong hatred for Kira Yamato, the only successful example of such a Coordinator. After losing to Prayer Reverie's Dreadnought Gundam during an operation, Carnard became obsessed with fighting him as well.
