An MS pilot aboard the Neo Zeon flagship Rewloola. He is an ambitious Cyber-Newtype who was enhanced by the Newtype Laboratory. He is overconfident and calls himself a true Newtype, but does have MS piloting skills and psycommu control abilities that match those of most Newtypes. Even so, he is drawn to Quess Paraya, whose Newtype skills easily surpass his own. But Quess is committed to the Neo Zeon leader Char Aznable, and does not even look at Gyunei. He also has trouble accepting that Char is using Quess's abilities for his own benefit, and so he pretends to be loyal to Char while secretly hoping to overthrow him.
